We are brought back, time and again, to these places (and so many more!) because they are familiar. Beloved. They're our escape from responsibility, places where, even when strange things happen, vampires walk in the daylight, teenagers consider coffee an essential food group, or you never get exactly what you ordered for breakfast, we feel comfortable and at home. We wish we could climb inside our screens or pages and join characters who've become our friends.
